# the ladder

**Is there an ultimate outside? The ladder of systems**

Each outside is just a stronger system, and that system has its own blind spot, which needs an even stronger one to see. Logicians have studied this ladder (Tarski’s hierarchy, the progressions of theories by Turing and Feferman). It has no top. You just make the observer bigger.
