Origin stories
Peoples everywhere have told how the world and the first people came to be, and these stories differ widely. The Rigveda asks whether even the gods knew, the Popol Vuh tells of Maya creators who tried more than once, and Aboriginal Australian peoples speak of ancestors who made the land while traveling. Each is told by its own people in its own terms, and each can be read next to the others without ranking. verify
