# Constellations

A constellation is a pattern people draw between stars, and the patterns differ between cultures. The familiar Western figures come mostly from Greek and Mesopotamian sources, while other traditions read the sky differently, for instance the dark shapes in the dust lanes of the Milky Way that Andean peoples named. verify
